Moshulu Estate is a boutique winery, family owned and operated by Melanie and Warren Heinnen, specialising in cool climate wines - Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The vineyard is located 9km inland from the iconic Great Ocean Road between the popular seaside holiday towns of Torquay and Anglesea, on the shipwreck Coast of Victoria. Our vineyard is vital in the production of wine, producing berries which capture and enhance the distinctive flavours unique to the sandy soils of Paraparap.
To capture and enhance the intrinsic flavours unique to the area, the vineyard promotes healthy soil, plants and berries. The Scott Henry trellising system together with the increased row width maximizes sunlight and allows the coastal breezes to flow through the entire vineyard. The risk of disease and pests has also been minimised through organic farming practices and the promotion of the many natural eco systems which thrive in and around the vineyard.
Established in 2001, now with 10 acres under vine, Moshulu Estate specialises in producing very low volume, single vineyard vintages. The wines are made by hand with traditional wine making methods and equipment being used alongside the most modern testing and storage facilities.
Our aim is to create elegant wines that reflect the terroir and fruit the vineyard produces.
Our Estate name - Moshulu (Mo-shoe-loo) takes its name from the largest four mast sailing ship in the world still afloat. Launched in 1904 she almost became a shipwreck statistic with a 'near miss' on our infamous rugged coastline, near Point Addis.
